Mother & child week in Chitral

CHITRAL: The mother and child week is being observed here from February 18 to 25 to create awareness among the people, particularly women and children about preventive measures to avoid contracting diseases.
District Health Officer Dr Iftikharuddin and Aga Khan Health Services Regional Programme Manager Mairajuddin said the mother and child week was being marked with the view to create awareness among the people to prevent mothers and children from catching preventable diseases.
They said the Lady Health Workers would go door-to-door to create awareness among the pregnant and lactating women to take care of themselves and their children.
