Peshawar Police claim busting gangs of robbers
PESHAWAR: The police have busted several gangs of robbers and arrested nine outlaws during different actions, an official said on Monday.
"Six cars, 11 motorbikes and two auto-rickshaws were also recovered during the actions," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Zahoor Babar Afridi told a press conference at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines.
Superintendent of Police Cantt Waseem Riaz, Superintendent of Police City Shafiullah Gandapur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Atiq Shah and Assistant Superintendent of Police Najmul Hassnain were also present.
The SSP Operations said the police arrested three accused from the limits of
the Gulfat Hussain Police Station. He said seven motorbikes were recovered from them. He said four other criminals were held and five cars recovered by the cops from the Tatara Police Station in Hayatabad.
The official said cops from other police stations also performed well in operations to curb street crimes. "The police stations have been directed to accelerate action to check street crimes," added Zahoor Afridi.
