Gepco recovery team beaten, injured

SIALKOT: A recovery team of Gepco was severely beaten and injured by a power thief-cum-defaulter in village Dulchike in the limits of Uggoki police station on Tuesday.
A Gepco Sialkot recovery team of Defence Road sub-division comprising Lines Superintendents Tufail and Irfan, and other officials Sagheer Ahmad, Rasheed Ahmed Butt, Shafique and Asif raided house of Muhammad Anwer in an official vehicle and found power theft at his house and removed the electricity meter.
Anwer and his accomplices attacked the team and thrashed and injured Tufail and Irfan.
The accused also damaged the official vehicle and detained the team and forced Tufail to reinstall the electricity meter at gunpoint. Anwer is also a defaulter of Wapda to the tune of Rs 35,000.
