MULTAN: The Regional National Accountability Bureau has recovered Rs3 million from an NGO, which had collected the money from public fraudulently. The NAB officials also arrested NGO people for investigation.
NAB Multan Region spokesman Ahmed Bajwa said the NGO registered with Quetta Social Welfare Department had illegally sold loan forms in convenience with the Punjab Bank officials and received Rs3 million from the public.
The NGO misguided the public for issuance of loan without mark-up and the NGO had been receiving money since February 2014.
The NGO people have shown their willingness to pay the collected amount.
The NAB board, headed by Multan Regional Director General Tariq Nadeem Mehmood, has approved repayment of the amount to the public.
