SUKKUR: The Rangers have taken the command of the operation against bandits in the Katcha area of Ghotki district on Saturday. The operation in the Sindh-Punjab border area along the Indus River is underway for the last one month.
Over 400 policemen of the two provinces, mostly from the Sukkur region, were engaged in the operation against gangs of bandit Sultu Shar and Chhotu Bakhrani under the command of SSP Khairpur Nasir Aftab Pathan. Reports said the operation by the police could not meet its target. One SHO and a constable have lost their lives and five others got injured.
