Hanging of 2 convicts postponed

SIALKOT: The hanging of two murder convicts at Sialkot district jail has been postponed, said the jail authorities on Thursday.
A murder convict namely Lazer Masih, son of Yousaf Masih of village Bheko Chore in the limits of Neikapura police station, was to be hanged on Thursday. However, his relative managed in getting stay from the Supreme Court against the death sentence, awarded by a lower court.
The other convict, Muhammad Naeem, son of Muhammad Saleem of village Gohadpur in the limits of Uggoki police station, was to be hanged on Friday (today) for murdering a woman in 1998. But his relatives also filed a plea in the court of district and sessions judge Sialkot Shahid Rafiq on Thursday stating that they had reached a truce with the family of the killed woman. Therefore, the court suspended his hanging till final verdict from the court.
