Three of a family killed in Punchayat

BAHAWALPUR: Three members of a family were killed during a Punchayat at Chak 19/BC in Yazman Sadr police limits on Wednesday night.
According to Yazman DSP Raja Ghulam Abbas, a Punchayat was under way to resolve differences between landowner Muhammad Boota and his tenants, including Allah Bakhsh. In the meantime, Muhammad Boota’s brother Tahir along with his accomplices came there and allegedly gunned down Allah Bakhsh, his brother-in-law Abbas and another relative. Police are investigating.
IUB AUDITORIUM CATCHES FIRE: An auditorium of the Islamia University Bahawalpur Baghdadul Jadeed campus caught fire on Thursday.
The fire suddenly broke out in the auditorium. On information, Rescue 1122 and TMA staffers reached the spot and controlled the fire after one and a half hour. No loss of life was reported. AC City Rao Tasleem Akhtar and DSP City Shafqat Atta Malik also reached the spot.
Meanwhile, IUB Vice-Chancellor Dr Qaisar Mushtaq has constituted a team to estimate the loss and find out the cause of fire.
