OKARA: On the orders of DPO Rana Muhammad Faisal, Basirpur police have registered a gang-rape case after three months of the incident.
Muhammad Anwar of Chorasta Mian Khan with his 14-year-old daughter Munazza met the DPO and told him that Asif, Nazeer and others had allegedly abducted his daughter and raped her for two months. He said that Basirpur police and the then Depalpur ASP were informed about the incident, but they allegedly refused to register a case. He said that the then ASP also apprehended the culprits, but later allegedly released them.
Meanwhile, the DPO warned Basirpur police and the ASP office that if the culprits were challaned in the case, a departmental action would be taken against the police officials for delaying registration of a case.
