OKARA: A petroleum and CNG station manager has filed a writ petition in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Syed Azhar Ali Jafari for registration of cases against Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) and five drivers.
Petitioner Javid Akhtar has sought registration of cases against TMA Administrator Sheikh Farid Ahmad and drivers - Dildar Hussain, Zaheer Babar, Muhammad Azam, Ajmal and Waheed Munna of the TMA Okara under Section 22-A and 22-B of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
The petitioner stated that on April 20, 2015, Sheikh Farid Ahmad, in his official vehicle, along with five TMA drivers and 50 unidentified armed persons, arrived at the filling station with garbage-laden tractor-trolleys, at MA Jinnah Road.
The administrator ordered drivers to dump the garbage in front of the filling station, owned by PPP leader Muhammad Ashraf Sohna. They also attempted to set on fire the filling station and resorted to firing into the air.
According to the petition, Ashraf Sohna had stopped the TMA administrator from taking action against the poor vendors a few days ago. It infuriated the respondents and they tried to attack the filing station.
The petitioner said City A-Division police station SHO did not take action on his application, and he should be directed to register a case against the TMA administrator and drivers. The court has sought a detailed report from the SHO on Friday (today).
