HAFIZABAD: A large number of teachers observed strike against the government for not implementing recommendations of the Pay and Pension Committee in the district on Tuesday.
The teachers under the banner of the Muttahida Mahaz Asatiza also staged a demonstration outside the press club.
The All Pakistan Clerks Association also participated in the demonstration after locking their offices. Addressing the protesters, teachers’ unions and Apca leaders said that the government employees had been facing a large number of problems due to the price hike. They demanded the government revise pay scales and merge ad hoc allowances into basic pay of the employees in the coming budget.
