Gunny bags on first come, first served basis: DCO

BHAKKAR: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Zaman Wattoo Thursday said gunny bags would be given to farmers on a first come, first served basis at wheat procurement centres.
Presiding over a special meeting held in connection with wheat procurement arrangements, the DCO said strict implementation of the government policy would be ensured at the centres.
He said an effective monitoring would be carried out to safeguard interests of farmers.
He asked relevant officials to discourage the role of the middleman and purchase wheat directly from farmers.
He said all arrangements were complete to meet the target of purchasing wheat at the rate of Rs 1,300 per 40 kg.
