SIALKOT: DCO Nadeem Sarwar has said that the Food Department has set the target to purchase 82,000 metric tons wheat from farmers in the district.
While chairing a meeting of the officials concerned on Sunday, the DCO said that 10,000 metric tons wheat would be purchased more this year as compare to the last year. He said that the purchase of wheat would be started from May 2 while issuance of gunny bags to the farmers would be started from April 28. He told that nine wheat procurement centres were established in Sialkot district, including two at Tehsil Sialkot, four in Tehsil Pasrur and two in Tehsil Daska. He said that the farmers would be provided all the facilities at the wheat procurement centres. He said that computerised record of the farmers would be maintained at all the procurement centres.
