‘Faisalabad has more business potential than Lahore’

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad is one of the most lucrative cities for Turkish investment, said DCO Noorul Amin Mengal.
Addressing a Turkish delegation at the FCCI here on Saturday, he said that the recent measures taken for infrastructural development would make the city as an engine of national economic growth in the next couple of years. He said that he had worked with the Turkish firms when he was the Lahore DCO but it was a hard fact that Faisalabad had more business potential as compared to Lahore and other cities of the country. He said that the FCCI and the district administration were working to improve the infrastructure facilities in the town. He said: “We have great respect and regard for the Faisalabad business community as it was earning more than $6 billion per annum for the country.”
Man, son drown as bike fall into canal

FAISALABAD: A man and his son drowned into Gogera Branch Canal near Salooni Jhal on Samundri Road on Saturday.
Ghulam Mohiuddin, his wife Surraya Bibi and son Muhammad Asif were on their way when their motorcycle plunged into the canal due to overspeeding. As a result, Mohiuddin and his son Asif drowned while Surraya was rescued by the people. The woman was admitted to a hospital.
Woman killed in jubilant firing

FAISALABAD: A woman was killed during a jubilant firing at a wedding function at Hajveri Park on Friday night.
Ishrat Sarfraz was witnessing the wedding function of Sughran Bibi when a participant, Ramzan Faryad, allegedly resorted to aerial firing. As a result, Ishrat was killed on the spot. Mansoorabad police have registered a case.
