Police lauded for prompt action against girl’s killer

BAHAWALPUR: Locals have lauded the Bahawalnagar DPO, Fort Abbas SHO and other policemen for prompt action and killing the rapist of a five-year-old girl soon after he committed the crime.
Talking to newsmen here on Friday, they said that the timely action of Bahawalnagar DPO Muntazir Mehdi and Fort Abbas SHO Rana Ali Akbar showed their determination to root out from the society. They also demanded the police high-ups announce reward for the police party. Meanwhile, DPO Muntazir Mehdi also appreciated the performance Inspector Rana Ali Akbar and the police party.
Earlier, five-year-old Amina of Chak 253/HL, who was playing outside her house, was abducted by Muneeb on Thursday. On information, Inspector Rana Ali Akbar and his team became active and raided different areas and finally got the footprints of the abductor in Cholistan Desert.
When police reached the desert area, they found the girl’s body, who was murdered after rape. In the meantime, police launched a search operation to arrest the accused. On seeing police, the accused opened fire on them, which was retaliated by police. As a result, the accused was killed on the spot.
