GUJRANWALA: Civil Lines police have arrested 13 members of four gangs and recovered booty and illicit weapons from them during the current month.
Talking to reporters here, Civil Lines Division SP Zeeshan Shafiq said that the police arrested the members of Waqas gang, Almas gang, Waqar alias Wikki gang and Tauqeer gang. The police arrested the gangsters included Waqas alias Kashi of Rahwali, Arsalan of Dhingranwali, Shahid, Yaqub and Waqar of Nawan Pindi and Usman of Cantonment area, he informed. The police also recovered weapons and booty including Rs 161,000, 15 motorbikes and 12 mobile phones from them, he added.
CANTONMENT BOARD POLLS ON 25TH: Residents of Cantonment will elect the members of the Cantonment Board in 10 wards on April 25.
As many as 85 polling stations have been established for 50,171 registered voters. As many as 85 candidates are contesting for 10 seats.
LABOURER DIES: A labourer died when his hand entangled into a machine at Dhulley on Wednesday.
Mushtaq of Faisalabad was operating a machine when his hand entangled into the machine. As a result, he died on the spot.
CRUSHED TO DEATH: A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident near Rahwali on Wednesday.
Gulzeb, son of Pervaiz, was on his way when a speeding truck crushed him to death on the GT Road.
