DBA strike against DPO in Hafizabad

HAFIZABAD: The District Bar Association members on Tuesday observed a strike against DPO Shakir Hussain Dawar here.
The lawyers also boycotted the courts proceedings to register their protest against the behaviour of the DPO. Meanwhile, a meeting of the DBA was held in the chair of DBA president Syed Nasir Hussain Sherazi. The lawyers demanded immediate transfer of DPO Shakir Hussain. They announced that the DBA would observe strike on every Saturday till the transfer of the DPO. On the other hand, DPO Shakir Hussain said that DBA general secretary Ch Amanullah Sindhu was allegedly a criminal who was trying to blackmail the police department.
MAN DIES, ANOTHER HURT IN ACCIDENT: A man died while another sustained injuries in an accident near Thattha Haveli Kareem Dad on Tuesday.
Hassan Ahmad and his friend Mukhtar were on their way by a motorbike when a speeding truck coming from opposite direction hit their motorbike. As a result, Hassan Ahmad died on the spot while Mukhtar was injured.
CARDIAC ARREST: A security guard of the National Bank of Pakistan Vanike Tarar Branch died of cardiac arrest here on Tuesday.
Bashir Ahmad was performing duty in the bank at night when he died of cardiac arrest.
