Wheat procurement

DERA GHAZI KHAN: All the arrangements have been finalised for procurement of wheat in the four districts of Dera Ghazi Khan division with 15 per cent increase in the target as compared to the last year.
This was said by Food Deputy Director Shabbir Ahmad Alvi in a statement here on Sunday. He said that 474,000 metric ton wheat would be procured from April 25 while the gunny bags would be issued to the farmers from today. He said that 44 procurement centres had been established to facilitate the growers while the procurement committees comprising the farmers and public representatives had also been set up. He said that there would be no role of the middlemen in the procurement and the wheat would be directly purchased from the farmers.
