SWABI: Leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Qaumi Watan Party (QWP), the parties that oppose Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf-led coalition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said on Sunday that though they confront difficulties in some union councils, their electoral alliance for the May 30 local government elections was intact.
They entered into electoral alliance seven days ago but soon they faced difficulties in some key union councils. However, district leadership of the two parties vowed to keep the alliance intact.
The district election committee comprises PML-N district president Iftikhar Ahmad Khan and general secretary Dildar Khan and QWP district chairman Masood Jabbar, central leader Muhammad Jamil advocate and some other leaders.
They said each alliance here in the district experienced difficulties in accommodating each other’s demands and they also have some complexities but they are determined to sail together and their alliance would not be ended at any cost.
They have political shrewdness and diplomatic skills to handle the difficulties and the workers should not be worried, they said, adding that they should concentrate on the election campaign.“We will give an ignominious defeat to the tripartite alliance candidates and ruling parties’ coalition here in the district,” said Jamil.
Meanwhile, seven journalists have filed their nomination papers from various union councils to contest the local government elections. They are: Ihsan-ul-Haq Bamkhelvi, former nazim of Bamkhel union council, Sherazam Jadoon from Gandaf union council, Saleem Alizai from Topi east union council, Rohul Amin, Intizar Ali Sada and Muhammad Bashir from Tordher union council and Farrukh Sair from Topi west union council.
