TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Thursday asked the workers to ensure success of the party candidate in the by-election for the constituency PK-95, Lower Dir.
Speaking at a meeting of the party candidates nominated for the local government election here, he said that it was the responsibility of all workers to work for the success of the party candidate in the May 7 by-election.
The JI chief said any party winning the local government elections could win the next general elections convincingly. He said his party would make Lower Dir a model district after winning local government elections. He also asked the party workers to utilise their energies and start campaign for the by-election as well as LG polls. Sirajul Haq criticised rulers for not taking up the case of Qamaruz Zaman, a JI leader in Bangladesh, who was sentenced to death in Bangladesh.
