PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Tuesday suspended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government notification about transfer of a senior doctor at the Khyber Teaching Hospital in Peshawar.
A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel and Justice Muhammad Daud Khan suspended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Secretary’s notification about the transfer of Dr Akbar Shah, in-charge of Casualty Unit of the hospital.
The bench sought replies from secretary and director general of Heath, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the KTH chief executive.
During hearing of the case, the petitioner’s lawyer Mohibullah Kakakhel submitted
before the bench that KTH was an autonomous institution and the provincial government could not interfere in the posting and transfer of the doctors.
