QUETTA: The alleged mastermind behind the attack on the Quaid-e-Azam’s Ziarat residency was killed in a targeted raid by the FC in the Mach area on Friday, a spokesperson for Frontier Corps said.
“Security forces killed three militants, including Mehmood alias Mama, the alleged mastermind of bombing at the Quaid residency on June 15, 2013, “Khan Wasey, the FC spokesman said.He said the accused was also involved in ethnic killing in the province. He said the militants were also involved in the murder of a Hindu trader. He said arms and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the militants.
Meanwhile, police foiled a terrorism bid by seizing 100 kilogrammes of explosives from the suburbs of Quetta on Friday. Three extortionists were also killed by the Frontier Corps in the Mach area of the Bolan district.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Quetta Razaq Cheema said the police conducted a raid in the Hazar Ganji area of the city and recovered 100 kilogrammes of explosives. “The terrorists had dumped the explosive material at an empty place.” He said the police acted on intelligence reports and foiled a major bid of terrorism in the city, already plagued by terror acts.
