BAHAWALPUR: A two-day meeting of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur’s Selection Board was held for interviews for different posts at the varsity.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of IUB Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Mushtaq while the other members included Prof Dr Abid Aman Burki, Director Centre for Management and Economics Research, Lahore University of Management Sciences, Prof Dr Muhammad Sharif, and chairman of Department of Mathematics, Punjab University, Lahore, Sajjad Ali. The board interviewed 96 candidates for the posts of Professor in Chemistry, Associate Professor in Pakistan Studies and Assistant Professors in Economics, English, Fine Arts, Graphic Designing, International Relations, Library Science, Media Studies, Political Science, Seraiki, Applied Psychology, Education, Educational Training and Social Work. It is pertinent to mention here that interviews were pending on these vacancies since 2012, however, the university administration on the direction of the IUB VC streamlined selection boards to fill teaching and non-teaching vacant posts.
