KARACHI: WAPDA were off to a fine start when they overwhelmed Higher Education Commission (HEC) in their Group A opener of the 38th National Kabaddi championship circle style at POF Wah Cantt on Saturday.
It was a fine battle with both sides offering tough resistance to each other.
However, WAPDA’s players seemed superior in skill that helped them overcome their young rivals.
The score remained 56-45 in favour of WAPDA.
In the other show of the group, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) whipped hosts Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) 58-33 to open their account with two points.
In a Group B clash, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) edged Police 48-36.
Army whipped Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 56-10 in a one-sided affair.
These matches were abandoned due to rain on Friday and were rescheduled for Saturday.
On Sunday (today), WAPDA face POF, PAF meet KP, SNGPL lock horns with HEC, while Army will be pitted against Police.
