Vehicle, land owners asked to pay tax

GUJRANWALA: Acting on the direction of Federal Board of Revenue, the Additional Commissioner (Land Revenue) Gujranwala Saturday asked owners of new costly vehicles and property holders to pay tax.
He warned them that recovery team had prepared their lists and it would be better for them to pay tax otherwise their bank accounts and properties would be confiscated.
MAN KILLED IN ACCIDENT: An unidentified aged man was killed in a road accident while crossing GT road along Rahwali in cantonment police areas.
The man was injured while crossing the road and was shifted to DHQ hospital where he died.
PROTEST AGAINST POLICE: Residents of Kotli Machhrrrwan Saturday staged a protest against Gujranwala Sadar police outside CPO office against highhandedness of Sadar police.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards, and were raising slogans against the police.
They told reporters that Tanvir was implicated in a robbery case by the police instead of arresting real culprits.
A senior police officer talked to them and assured them justice. Over this the protesters dispersed.
GIRL HURT IN JUBILATION FIRING: A 15-year-old girl suffered bullet injuries in a jubilation firing at a marriage function in Wazirabad city on Saturday.
Gurrya Bibi suffered injuries when she was hit by a bullet in Hanwman street and was shifted to RHQ Wazirabad.
The City police Wazirabad arrested bridegroom Shehzad and his friends Mudassair Zahid and others and recovered weapons from their possession.
