Askari unhappy over poor cleanliness in Gujranwala
GUJRANWALA: Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Dr Hassan Askari paid a surprise visit to the city on Monday and expressed concern over poor cleanliness situation.
He directed the commissioner to take personal interest and improve the cleanliness situation as early as possible. Provincial ministers Zia Haider Rizvi and Ahmed Waqas Riaz were present on the occasion.
Later, presiding over a meeting at the Circuit House, Dr Hassan Askari said: “Provision of basic facilities, including neat and clean atmosphere, to the people is our duty and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated.” He expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the waste management company. The caretaker CM directed the district administration and police officers to adopt necessary measures to ensure fair and impartial elections. Commissioner Muhammad Asif, RPO Ashfaq Khan and other officers were also present on the occasion.
