Man shot dead for ‘honour’ in Okara

OKARA: A man was shot dead for honour here on Wednesday.
Azhar alias Baggi of Dharangga village doubted that Saleem had developed relations with his wife. On the day of the incident, Saleem was going to his cattle pen when Azhar along with his six accomplices, including Bilal and Tanveer, allegedly shot at and injured him. He was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Haveli police have registered a case and started investigation.
CONDOLENCE: The District Peace Committee (DPC) chief and the district police officer visited the residence of JUP former district general secretary Shahzad Anjum Ansari, who was murdered about three days ago, and offered condolence to the bereaved family.
On the request of the DPC, the DPO promised to arrange free education for the children of the late Ansari. The DPO and the DPC chief also offered Fateha for the departed soul of Ansari.
GANG BUSTED: Gogera police busted a dacoits gang here.
Police received information that members of the Abid alias Abi gang were present in the area. Following the information, police rushed to the spot and started chasing them. On seeing police, the dacoits opened fire on them. Police also retaliated and succeeded to arrest ringleader Abid alias Abi Kharal, Shakir and Sajid Ali while three others managed to escape.
