GUJRANWALA: People have shown concern over traffic mess outside schools and colleges during their opening and closing hours due to mismanagement of the traffic police.
Talking here, the people said that they face a lot of problems during opening and closing timings of educational institutions especially around District Courts, Sialkot Road, Satellite Town Road and Jinnah Road due to traffic mess as no traffic police official was deputed. They said that even ambulances carrying patients could not find place outside the educational institutions. They demanded the CTO take special measures at opening and closing hours of schools and colleges to avoid traffic mess.
COPS PROMOTED: As many as 90 police head constables were promoted to the rank of assistant sub-inspector (ASI).
The promotion of the cops was approved during a meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee of Police Department held in the chair of the RPO here. The meeting also approved promotion of three ASIs to the next rank of sub-inspector.
Gujranwala BISE clerk held for taking bribe

GUJRANWALA: Anti-Corruption Establishment circle officer Asad Cheema on Tuesday arrested Gujranwala BISE clerk Rahat Naz red-handed when he was taking Rs 30,000 bribe from a man.
Complainant Agha Ali filed an application that accused clerk Rahat had received Rs 100,000 from him already and he was demanded Rs 30,000 more from him for recruitment of his son. At this, the ACE team raided and arrested the accused red-handed when he was receiving the bribe money. A case has been registered against the accused clerk.
