FAISALABAD: Nations are identified by their culture and literary personalities, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice-Chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
Addressing the second day of a five-day Lyallpur Art and Literature Festival here on Tuesday, he stressed the need to promote Pakistani culture and literature. He also called for promoting the messages of great saints, including Bulleh Shah, Waris Shah, Sultan Bahu, Shah Hussain and Muhammad Bakhsh. He said that the saints played a vital role in unity by invoking the spirit of humanity among the people through their messages.
In Naat competition, Muhammad Zeeshan Arif of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur stood first while Mubashir Hassan of the University of Sargodha stood second and Muhammad Ghafran of the Punjab University stood third. In essay competition, Sadaf of a private university got the first position and Zara of the Government College University Faisalabad obtained the second position while Tayyaba got the third position.
