Bill Gates, the chief of Bill & Mellinda Gates Foundation, telephoned former president and co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari on Monday evening to discuss the steps being taken to eradicate polio from the country.
The former president informed Gates that anti-polio programmes were being vigorously pursued by the PPP government since 2008.
He said efforts were also continuing in Sindh and the provincial government was taking every step to provide protection to polio workers and obtain maximum vaccine coverage.
