Explosive device wrapped in plastic bag defused in Hangu
HANGU: The police on Sunday foiled a terror bid and recovered a time bomb packed in a plastic bag in Faizullah locality in the city, a police official said.
District Police Officer (DPO) Asif Gohar said the locals informed the police about the presence of a suspicious plastic bag placed under the table in a tandoor near a mosque in Faizullah locality. He said that the police reached the area and called in the officials of the bomb disposal unit (BDU) to defuse the explosive device.
The official said that the BDS official recovered a time bomb weighing up to 1.5 kg from the plastic bag and defused it. He said the BDS officials also recovered a primacord, safety fuses and a detonator attached to the explosive device as well. He said the militants had planted the explosive device to carry out an act of sabotage.
