Chinese troupe performs in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said on Sunday that Pak-China friendship was time-tested and Pakistan valued the sincerity and commitment of China.
He was addressing as chief guest at the performance of the visiting China Opera Theatre Troupe in Peshawar hosted by the Malik Saad Shaheed Memorial Sports Trust, a voluntary body named after a renowned police officer of the province.
Chinese Ambassador Yao Jang, senior officials of the Chinese Embassy, provincial government officials and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
The visiting Chinese cultural troupe received tremendous appreciation for their highly attractive performance from the audience.
The governor appreciated the trust for hosting the event to mark the 67th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relationships between China and Pakistan.
He thanked the Chinese friends for visiting Peshawar.
While referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, the governor said it was the latest development of the long series of achievements of this exemplary friendship which on completion would take the relationships to new horizons.
The governor said the CPEC would open a new era of development in the region.
The Chinese also spoke on the occasion, saying the relations between the two countries would grow in future.
