Motorcyclists in Chitral to participate in Chilimjusht festival
CHITRAL: A group of 10 motorcyclists has arrived here to participate in the adventure tourism activities during the Chilimjusht festival to be kicked off today (Monday).
Starting the journey from Islamabad on Friday, the bike riders reached Chitral town early in the day.
They left for Kalash valley to participate in the Chilimjusht festival.
The organisers said the bikers rally was aimed at sending a message to the world that peace had been restored in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tourism activities were in full swing in every nook and corner of the country.
A number of foreign tourists including French and Australian families have already arrived Chitral to enjoy Chilimjusht.
Preparations for the Chilimjusht or Joshi festival are in full swing as the local people have launched the cleanliness drive. The Kalash men and women were seen shopping for the festival in the Chitral bazaar.
Like the previous year, the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) has also established a tent village to facilitate the tourists in the scenic Kalash valley.
The tourists were informed that this year the local people were very enthusiastic and were impatiently waiting for the festival to celebrate it in a befitting manner. They have started a cleanliness campaign well before the commencement of the event.
