ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar Sunday directed the Air Blue to ensure compensation to the remaining families of the victims of 2010 Margalla Hills crash.
The chief justice had on Saturday ordered the Air Blue administration to furnish with the court details of cheques handed over to the families and the list of victims. The Air Blue counsel told the court that each family (of the victim) had been paid Rs5 million, while compensation was due to a handful of families.
The chief justice said the court will ensure payment of interest on the total compensation amount that was still pending. Air Blue (flight ED 202) crashed in the Margalla Hills in 2010, killing six crew and 146 passengers on board. The flight was coming from Karachi to Islamabad when it came down.
