5.3 magnitude earthquake jolts parts of country

ISLAMABAD: A moderate 5.3 magnitude earthquake on Thursday jolted various parts of the country, causing panic among citizens.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, epicenter of the quake was bordering area of Afghanistan and Tajikistan at a depth of 187 kilometers, which originated at 7:09 pm.

The jerks were felt in various cities including Islamabad, Peshawar, Shangla, Batagram, Mardan, Abbottabad, Chitral, Kohat, Swabi and Swat and their surrounding localities. No loss to life and property has been reported till filling of this report.
