Zulfiqar, Aamir put Multan in driving seat

ISLAMABAD: Veteran Zulfiqar Babar (5-50) and all-rounder Aamir Yamin (3-33) ran through the batting lineup of Karachi Blues to give Multan an early advantage in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade II final at Multan Stadium Tuesday.
After bowling out Karachi Blues for 154, Multan reached 71-2 at the close of play on the opening day.For Karachi, Ashiq Ali (47) and Muhammad Asghar (33) played well. Waqar Hussain (32 not out) then batted well for Multan to take them to a strong position when the stumps were drawn for the first day.
Brief scores: Karachi Blues 154 all out in 61.2 overs (Ashiq Ali 47, Muhammad Asghar 33, Fahad Bukhari 23; Zulfiqar Babar 5-50, Aamir Yamin 3-33). Multan Region 71-2 in 26 overs (Waqar Hussain 32 not out).
