Attack on Ahsan Iqbal condemned
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Senator Sirajul Haq has strongly condemned the murderous attack on Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal resulting in injuries to him.
He termed the attack a most cowardly act and demanded that the designs behind the attack must be exposed and the culprits handed down a deterrent punishment. The JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch, also condemned the murderous attack on the interior minister. The JI Amir and secretary general expressed deep grief on the death of 23 mines workers in a mine collapse in Quetta. The JI chief has called upon the federal and the provincial governments to fully compensate the affected families for the loss of their dear ones.
IG: The inspector general of police, Punjab, has taken notice of Narowal incident in which Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal was shot at and wounded. He directed the DPO concerned to look into the matter and submit a report in this regard. He directed the DPO to take stern action against the culprit.
PPP: PPP central Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira has condemned firing on Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal. In a statement issued here on Sunday, Qamar demanded of the government improve security situation in the country. He feared that this incident could be a conspiracy to delay the upcoming general elections.
