Youth tortured to death in Sargodha
SARGODHA: A youth was tortured to death in Sillanwali police limits on Saturday. According to police sources, Asad of Chak 88/NB was moving on a motorcycle on Sillanwali-Sargodha Road when some unidentified people intercepted him late Friday night near chak 115/SB and killed him. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
14 POs arrested: The district police Saturday claimed to have arrested 14 proclaimed offenders (POs) through Interpol from other countries. According to a police spokesman, the POs were involved in heinous crimes and had fled to Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Sharjah, and Muscat.
Through Ministry of Interior the district police had sent red notices/warrants for 27 POs out of 51 to the Interpol.
With the help of Interpol, Sargodha police succeeded in arresting 15 POs, including Tahir Mehboob, Rashid Ali, Raheel Ahmad, Qamar Abbas and others.
9.5kg contraband seized: The police on Saturday claimed to have arrested 23 drug peddlers and recovered narcotics and illegal weapons from their possession. According to a police spokesman, police of different stations arrested 23 accused and recovered 9,515 gram Hashish, 63 bottle liquor, two shotguns and six pistols from them. The police have registered separate cases against the accused and started investigation.
