Nahida, Nida help ZTBL beat HEC in women’s Departmental T20

KARACHI: Nahida Bibi hit a fine fifty and Nida Dar showed all-round performance to enable Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) to overwhelm Higher Education Commission (HEC) by 66 runs in their match of the Departmental T20 Women Cricket Championship here at the National Stadium on Friday.

Nahida hit 67 off 47 balls, while Nida hammered unbeaten 38 off 27 balls to catapult ZTBL to 147-2 after opting to bat first.

Nahida cracked six fours and two sixes in her fine innings. Nain Abidi chipped in with 32-ball 31 with five fours.Mehak Amir and Samavia Akhtar got one wicket each. Maham Manzoor (3-15), Diana Baig (3-23) and Nida (2-9) then restricted HEC to 81-9. Gul Feroza scored 55-ball 38 with six fours. Shamim Ansari and Aziz-ur-Rehman supervised the match.

In another show at the same venue, PCB XI defeated State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) by eight wickets. SBP posted 116-9 with Aliya Riaz hitting unbeaten 39 off 31 balls. She smacked two sixes and one four in her solid knock. Ayesha Zafar belted 36 off 32 balls, cracking six fours. Sania Khan (4-28) and Kainat Imtiaz (2-26) bowled well. PCB XI raced to the target with nine balls to spare after losing two wickets.

Javeria Rauf chipped in with unbeaten 59 off 60 balls, smacking nine fours.Kainat scored 42 off 44 balls, smashing seven fours. Maham Tariq got 2-23. Tahir Rasheed and Imran Jawad supervised the match.
