NAB receives details of vehicles used by Musharraf, his family
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau received reply from the Excise department with regard to details of vehicles used by Ex-President Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf and his family members.
The NAB had written a letter to Excise Department seeking details of vehicles registered in the name of Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf, his spouse Sehba Musharraf, his son Bilal Musharraf, his daughter, son-in-law and mother.
In response to the letter of NAB, the Excise Department replied that vehicle Land Cruiser was registered on the name of Sehba Musharraf and no any vehicle was registered on the name of Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf, his son and daughter.
According to the Excise Department, Sehba Musharraf is the only one from Musharraf's family with a registered vehicle in Lahore. The NAB started inquiry against former President Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf allegedly for abuse of power and accumulating assets beyond known source of income after the approval from its Executive Board last month.
The decision to initiate inquiry against Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf was made after the Islamabad High Court verdict through which it asked that it could initiate the inquiry against Pervez Musharraf on the plea of Col (R) Inam Rahim, who also lodged a complaint against him for accumulating the sources beyond known source of income.
