Balochistan bag karate crown

LAHORE: Balochistan won the Inter-Provincial Karate Championship at Sahiwal on Tuesday. The championship was organized by Pakistan Karate Federation.

The teams from all the affiliated Provincial Karate Associations - Punjab, KP, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad and FATA participated in the championship. Balochistan won the championship with 97 points, KP secured 2nd position with 85 points and Punjab with 71 points stood third.

Salman Naeem from Punjab won gold medal in 67kg, Muhammad Murad of KP won gold medal in 55kg and Taj Rehan of Balochistan won gold medal in +75 Kg.Ali Bahadur Qazi, Commissioner Sahiwal was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the championship.

Sardar Asad Ali Khan Baloch, Mayor Sahiwal was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. M Jahangir Chairman Pakistan Karate Federation and Andleeb Sandhu General Secretary Pakistan Karate Federation were also present at the occasion.

Below 60kg: gold Asif Ali (KP), silver Ali Abid (Punjab), bronze Zohaib Zia (Islamabad)

Below 67kg: gold Salman Naeem (Punjab), silver M. Umar (KP), bronze Gul Riaz (Balochistan)

Below 75kg: gold Israr Ahmad (KP), silver Abdul Rahman (Sindh), bronze Abdul Basit (Balochistan)

Above 75kg: gold Taj Reham (Balochistan), silver Shahroze Hussain (Punjab), bronze M. Yasir (KP)

Team Kumite: gold Asmat Ullah, Abdul Aziz, Abdul Basit, Gul Riaz, Taj Rehan, Zaman (Balochistan) silver Ali Haider, Ali Abid, Salman Naeem, Shahroze Hussain, Zaid , Talha (Punjab) bronze M. Haris, Asif Ali, Israr Ahmad, M.Murad, M. Yasir, Umar (KP).
