Terrorists wanted in target killings held in Quetta operation
QUETTA: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan has arrested a leading commander of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Doctor Abdul Raheem during a search operation in Quetta on Tuesday.
Addressing a news conference Deputy Inspector General CTD Aitzaz Goraya said the arrested commander was wanted by the law enforcement agencies in several heinous acts of terrorism including deadly attacks on members of Hazara Community in the town. Goraya added that his head money had been fixed two million rupees.
In reply to a query he said that several camps of terrorism were operative in Afghanistan which were imparting training of terrorism to the youth with the aim of disrupting peace in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan. Goraya categorically denied presence of ISIS in Balochistan. He said Muhammad Raheem was arrested in Saryab raid.
The arrested terrorist who was on CTD’s Red Book confessed involvement in numerous attacks including those on Women University and the inspector general of police. Raheem was also involved in target killings in Quetta from 2012 till 2014.
