Mahoor, Irfan win badminton crowns

ISLAMABAD: Mahoor Shahzad (women) and Irfan Saeed (men) turned out to be the proud winners of the National Ranking Badminton Championship that concluded here at the Rodham Hall on Monday.
In the men’s final, Irfan (Wapda) got better of Murad Ali (NBP) 21-15, 24-22 while Mahoor (Wapda) faced little problem in disposing off Sehra Akram (Wapda) 21-10, 21-9 in the women’s decider.
Rizwan Azam and Kashif Sulehri (NBP) defeated Irfan Saeed and Azeem Sarwar (Wapda) 21-17, 21-13 to win the men’s doubles title.The women’s doubles crown was scooped up by Mahoor and Saima Waqas (Wapda) beating Ghazala and Zuberia (SNGPL) 21-11, 21-13 in the final.
