FAISALABAD: The lawyers Monday staged a demonstration at Zila Council Chowk to express resentment against registration of a case against their 35 colleagues by the police. They also entered the CPO Office and ransacked it. Addressing the protesting lawyers, DBA president Amjad Hussain Malik demanded immediate suspension of SHO Dijkot Malik Waris for abusing his powers and action against the police officials who had raided the houses of local lawyers and implicated them in the case. When contacted, a spokesman of the RPO said during a clash between the SHO Dijkot and the lawyers in district courts here on Sunday, some lawyers had beaten and injured an ASI and four police personnel. Lawyers also damaged two CCTV cameras. He told that the clash occurred when Dijkot police had arrested the cousin of a Faisalabad-based lawyer and brought him to Faisalabad to produce him before the court.
