Siraj, Hashmi discuss MMA’s strategy
LAHORE: Jamaat Islami (JI) and Jamiat Ulema Pakistan (JUP-Noorani) have reaffirmed their pledge to safeguard Islamic values and work to enforce Nizam-e-Mustafa (PBUH) through the re-establishment of Muttahida Majlis Amal (MMA) and to counter western conspiracies to secularise the country.
The declaration was made when JI ameer Senator Sirajul Haq called on JUP president Pir Ijaz Hashmi at latter’s residence on Monday to discuss political matters prevailing in the country and the likely strategy of the MMA to contest the coming elections. Sirajul Haq inquired about the health of Pir Ijaz Hashmi who has been suffering from some persistent health problems.
He also presented a bouquet to Hashmi and also prayed for early recovery of his health. JI spokesman Ameerul Azeem and JUP leader Barrister Awais Raza Hashmi were also present on the occasion.
Both the leaders agreed that Islamic Shariah was the only system that presented solution to all problems of mankind, while the masses in the country had been fooled by different politicians. They said Islamabad convention on May 2, and Lahore public meeting on May 13, would be a display of inter-sect unity and harmony, and a show of MMA’s street power.
