BAHAWALPUR: Hawaldar Asif Jehangir, who was martyred during the Zarb-e-Azb operation in North Waziristan on March 21, was buried at his native village Mandi Sadiq Ganj, Bahawalnagar, on Monday.
Earlier, scores of people including the Pak Army officers attended his funeral prayers at his ancestral graveyard. A Pak Army contingent presented a guns salute and guard of honour to the martyred. After the burial, Brigade Commander Brig Muhammad Arshad Khan laid floral wreath on the grave of Asif Jehangir on the behalf of the President of Pakistan, COAS Gen Raheel Sharif and the Punjab Brigade.
