Pakistan register big wins in Asian hockey qualifiers

KARACHI: Pakistan recorded two big wins on the second day of the Asian hockey qualifiers for the Youth Olympics in Bangkok.
In the morning match, Pakistan brushed aside Singapore 5-0. Murtaza Yaqoob, grandson of Olympic silver medallist late Afzal Manna, scored a hat-trick. Chichawatni’s Hammad Anjum netted two goals.
In the afternoon, Pakistan tore apart Cambodia with a 20-0 scoreline.Hammad Anjum scored six goals, Waqas Ahmed netted four, while Murtaza Yaqoob, Zulqarnain and Mohsin Khan struck three apiece. One goal was hit by Mohibullah.
