Saving Earth

April 24, 2018

Earth’s Day was observed on April 22. The main topic of discussion was the excessive use of plastic and its harmful and irreversible effects on the environment. It is being said that if the use of plastic continues, there will be more plastic than fish in the oceans. It is unfortunate to note that plastic is also hurting our marine life and adding to environmental pollution. Almost 20,023 million tonnes of plastic waste is improperly disposed of in rivers every year.

Both the government and the people should join hands to end plastic pollution. Alternative means should be introduced so that people can discontinue the use of plastic. Biodegradable bags should be introduced in markets. Our collective efforts can save the environment and our marine life.
