Three die of gastroenteritis in Sahiwal
SAHIWAL: Three people, including two women, died of gastroenteritis while 51 others were hospitalised where condition of 15 was stated to be serious.
The gastroenteritis outbreak continued to engulf more areas of Sahiwal as three people, Rasoolan, 60, of Chak 135/9L, Manzoor Hussain, 60, hailing from Noor Shah Town and Irshad Bibi, 65, of Pakpattan Chowk, died of this disease. Meanwhile, 51 more gastroenteritis patients, including women and children, were hospitalised. Lack of facilities for gastro affected people at hospitals has increased the worries of masses as single bed was available for three to four affectees. The people have appealed to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the situation and direct the health authorities to take emergency measures to overcome this disease.
