Posting order of Peshawar Development Authority DG withdrawn
PESHAWAR: The posting order of Israrul Haq, the Director General, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA), has been withdrawn and he will now continue to hold this position.
It was learnt that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had resisted the transfer order of Israrul Haq issued by the federal government. He had reportedly asked Israrul Haq not to give up charge as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government wanted him to continue as the PDA director general and lead the team overseeing the construction of the Rs49.346 billion Peshawar Bus Transit (BRT) project.
Both Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and Chief Secretary Mohammad Azam Khan were keen that Israrul Haq should continue working as the PDA director general and they play a role in getting his posting order cancelled.
Finally, the Auditor General of Pakistan agreed to withdraw the posting order as Israrul Haq originally belongs to the Accounts group. Israrul Haq has been on deputation, first as director general, monitoring and evaluation wing at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Planning and Development Department, and then as director general, PDA.
Israrul Haq had replaced Saleem Hasan Wattoo as the director general PDA on October 28, 2017.
