PESHAWAR: Three members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly said on Friday that they were falsely accused of selling vote in the Senate election.

Speaking at a press conference, Nagina Khan, Nasim Hayat and Nargis Ali swore by the Holy Quran that they had not sold their votes.

The lawmakers said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan would have to prove his allegations and warned of legal action against him if he didn’t apologise to them within 15 days.

They said that they would pray to Allah to humiliate those who wrongly named and shamed them.

The lawmakers said that they were assured 10 days back that no action was being taken and termed the action a preemptive action.

They claimed that only those lawmakers, who could expose the wrongdoings of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, had been targeted by the party chairman. The MPAs said the party leaders were making tall claims of justice but had targeted them without giving them an opportunity to clarify their position.

The women said that deals were made at the farmhouses in Banigala and Nowshera while accusations were being made against the MPAs.

They questioned that action was taken against 10 members when PTI party chief had alleged that 20 legislators were involved in the horse-trading.
